I usually don't stop by the Roser Church thrift shop on my walk, but today it called me inside. The photo is the pattern on a queen size duvet cover, cotton, and two pillowcases, which I purchased for five dollars. My plan, when I return from Christmas, is to cut it into different lengths, and dye the lengths different colors, then use them in an art quilt. I'm excited! it's hard to tell, but the background is white and the pattern is in a dusty teal color. I'm hoping it turns out as I hope ....... then I found an airy blue/green overshirt.......here's it on me in the photo. way too large........besides, I bought it to use
as an overlay over other fabrics, as it will lend it's lines over the other fabrics, yet allow for the under fabric to show through, as in the photo here. OR..........I could keep it as it and wear it as a shirt when I work.......like an oversized workshirt. that's not going to happen, I'm afraid........but until I cut into it, that may be what happens. My personal Christmas gifts today to me........something waiting for me to do when I return from Christmas holiday! Wish I could get started on the dyeing today, but there are other fish to fry, as the saying goes. Really happy I stopped in and was thrifty today!

Whoo hooo! What terrific finds! And you know, I am definitely the Queen (OK, I will be the princess and you can be the queen this time) of the thrift stores!!! Definitely the best finds for pretty clothing and also good things to use in our quilts. And hey, it does go with the tradition. . . Peace and many blessings, Annie

Oh Chris, I love thrift shops. You never know what treasures are lurking there. I always eye the linens and look for Indian cotton skirts for the fabric. Good stuff and you have some winners here!
